Applications of Packaging Adhesives in Industry
Leave a message
The modernization of packaging materials in my country began with the introduction of extrusion lamination technology in 1955 and dry lamination technology in 1965. Polyurethane adhesives are widely used in plastic lamination due to their good processing performance and high bonding strength. Packaging adhesives are mainly used to make pressure-sensitive tapes and labels, bonding the surfaces of packaging materials such as paper, plastic, and metal. Adhesives for paper packaging materials are polyvinyl acetate emulsions, while adhesives for plastic and metal packaging materials include polyacrylic acid emulsions, VAE emulsions, polyurethane adhesives, and cyanoacrylate adhesives.
Hot melt adhesives can be divided into EVA hot melt adhesives and polyamide hot melt adhesives, depending on the raw materials. Currently, EVA hot melt adhesives are mainly produced and used in China. EVA hot melt adhesive is a solvent-free, water-free solid fusible polymer that becomes viscous after melting when heated, and is widely used in the packaging industry. For example, a typical 3M hot melt glue gun has a power of 500 watts and an output of 5.5-7.5 psi, suitable for multiple industries such as packaging and woodworking. Polyurethane adhesives can bond a variety of materials and retain their physical and chemical properties even at low or ultra-low temperatures. They are mainly used in packaging and other fields.
