The Development History of Industrial Stretch Wrapping
Leave a message
Industrial stretch wrapping technology is a new technology that developed internationally in the 1990s. In the early 1990s, the United States used stretch wrapping technology on approximately 250 million items annually. China's stretch wrapping industry started in the late 1980s and developed rapidly in the 1990s. In the late 1990s, relevant national departments organized delegations to Australia, New Zealand, and the United States to conduct special investigations and introduce the technology.
By 2021, China's total annual consumption of stretch film was approximately 60,000 tons, of which more than 40% was imported. The number of stretch wrapping machine manufacturers has grown from two or three in the mid-to-late 1990s to more than 30. Compared with developed countries, the application of stretch wrapping technology in China is still in its initial stage, but the market prospects are broad, and its application in the western regions is still largely unexplored.
