In packaging and logistics, cushioning materials are crucial for protecting fragile and delicate items. In cargo transportation, EVA packaging cushioning materials are commonly used to protect fragile items such as glass, electrical appliances, and ceramics from impacts, bumps, or vibrations during transport. Sponge-lined packaging, due to its excellent shock absorption and cushioning properties, is widely used in jewelry, ceramics, electronic products, instruments, gifts, toys, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, hardware, wine, furniture, and lighting fixtures. Corrugated cardboard, honeycomb cardboard, and other paper-based cushioning materials are widely used for cushioning packaging of electronic products and fruits due to their environmental friendliness and low cost.

 

In the industrial and manufacturing sectors, cushioning materials also play an important role. For example, in automobile manufacturing, redesigned steering wheels use cushioning pads on the wheel rims to protect the driver's head in the event of a severe collision.

 

With the development of technology, the application of cushioning materials is expanding towards high-end and functional applications. For example, in the field of humanoid robots, thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer (TPU), which combines high strength and high elasticity, is used in key parts such as bionic skin, shock-absorbing components, and joint seals due to its excellent elasticity, toughness, wear resistance, and processability, in order to improve the safety and durability of robot movement.
