Introduction to transport cushioning materials

Transportation cushioning material refers to the elastic padding material placed between the hot presses during the surface processing of engineered wood products. It evenly distributes pressure on the stressed surfaces of the product. In 2016, it was approved and published as a forestry term by the National Committee for Terminology in Science and Technology.

This material encompasses various types, including foamed polyethylene, carbon nanotube-graphene hybrid structures, and honeycomb cardboard. Carbon nanotube bundles have an energy storage capacity of 70 kJ/kg, while array structures can reach 150 kJ/kg. Plant fiber cushioning materials achieve environmentally friendly degradation through steam foaming technology. Research involves the energy absorption characteristics of EPE/EPS overlapping structures and the optimization of low-frequency vibration stability of ACF materials. Application areas cover precision instrument packaging, automotive manufacturing, and construction engineering.
